An ‘eco traveller’ is someone who travels with awareness. It is a person who thinks about the places they are travelling to and what impact their travel may have on that destination.

It is someone who wants to make a positive contribution while travelling by supporting the local population either economically or socially; travelling with companies that support responsible tourism practices; and thinking about the impact their travel has on the environment they are visiting.

Eco Traveller magazine (to be launched in 2008) and website will provide readers with current information on the ecotourism industry in Australia and overseas; responsible holidays; tourism in developing countries; conservation and volunteer projects, and ways to make a positive contribution to our world through travel.
